It is Saturday night… and we just had a beautiful day in Seattle… I have really been meaning to bring you up to speed  so I figured I would have you out back for a drink and catch you up. Forgive me for not following up on all the individual comments and emails… be assured I read everyone and appreciate them. It was eye opening to hear a bit of what you all pay for your salon visits… and thoughts of saving a pile of money and doing some color at home. I owe a number of you emails… but mom and dad are still requiring 4 to 5 days a week of care and I just don’t got it to give. I have to address you all at once if I have any prayer of keeping up. Like that family that writes one letter with all the happenings and sticks it in the Christmas card…. maybe not overly personal.. but it is what I can do.

So Mrs CB and I had a great day out for Mothers day… shopping in those little antique malls really gets Mrs CB going and who am I to turn her down… a great morning of shopping followed by fish and chips in a nice Irish Pub with a beer . We had to be back because the color lady had a cancellation and Mrs CB was getting color at 3PM.

I tried with all my might not to push…. how hard is that on hair color day not to consider pushing for a trim…? Anyway… I worked in the yard and power washed the deck while she was at the salon. Thanks again to all site supporters that make these color visits  possible. We have a couple individuals that have gone way above in beyond in the support area that keep these salon visits. I would like to thank them publicly… but I am not sure they would like that. You know who you are and I appreciate you.

Ta…Da  Mrs CB arrives home looking good and feeling good. She has dipped her toe in the water with letting the colorist take a shot with the clippers. This time not only did Mrs CB get the arch carved in more to my liking she got a decent undercut behind her ears…… One of my personal twists is I love that spot clippered out behind her ears. Supposedly the colorist was super careful with Mrs CB’s neck…. you can see Mrs CB does scratch herself red sometimes… and not the stylists fault.

This is just a #2 .. and not see through and bristly… still very nice. I know this is about the same cut she always gets but I am happy. I think from here we are going to try the colorist for cuts…and always have the expensive girl as a back up. Now I need to get in and see the colorist and start going over my wish list.. Mrs CB without warning felt good with her today and booked two more haircuts…one early June and one late June before we go on a road trip. So two cuts in the next 6 weeks sounds like a lot of smiling for me. I just can’t let her grow it out too much…

If you liked the Yellowstone cut that was done by the colorist and I’ll try to post a few other good ones. She did however have some strange failures…

Sorry if I rambled all over in my thoughts.. I had to stop and start the BBQ, then I had to stop and fix the sewing machine… and now it is time to get the steaks ready. I took a video but it is too dark.. so I will see if we can have a little of Mrs CB telling you her plans herself.

Out of focus ... but I love this shape.....all day every day...

OK yet another quickie post. One of our fellow adventures donated some pictures and I thought I would share. One because I don’t have anything better to post and mostly because her hair looks very much like my wife’s…. it has the same thickness.

Unfortunately this was his girlfriend a couple years back and he is in full negotiations to bring back the bob. I look at a great looking bob like this and wonder who could let it grow into one of the shoulder+ length styles…. I know not everyone is bob obsessed but still this is a mighty nice look. Thanks contributor… we are pulling for you. With hair this thick you can carve out a lot of cool bobs.

Anyway.. in other news I am walking softly… I hit a nerve this weekend when I tried for those big hoop earring shots. Mrs CB informed me she is not a show dog doing tricks… She tried to blow me off a few times and I kept pushing it.. way past what is safe and so eventually she bit me. We also have the whole what are we going to do about a stylist debate going on… I have been vague about the amount.. but lets just put it out there. Her cut is $60 plus tip of $15 so it costs me $75 now. I am guessing to you London guys and city folks in general that may not seem like a lot but it is out of my budget….You guys that support the website are great and I really count on you .. but I can’t cover that with her going so often.

Mrs CB is on the hunt for a new stylist but our choices are just as limited as before. We have a new strip mall and complex being built and we are waiting to see if we get a new salon. Mrs C is due for color and after I made a remark she has not been eager to let me do any picture taking. By the time you see her again it will be grown to what you always see….. She should be getting color soon and considered having the girl that got banned do a little trim up.

Anyway you got to admit the girl at the top of this post  looks a little like  Mrs CB.

I am not sure what you call the tip oc the curl on the side when it swoops out..but I do know I love them.

Instead of seeing the nice line.. I can't stop wishing we could curl that side UNDER.

It is a beautiful Saturday and by now none of you check in and click around on Saturdays because I have been having trouble updating on weekends. So I thought I would shake it up a little and keep you stopping by. Well I guess I don’t have any great content… but what I do have is a few pictures of Mrs CB’s cool bobs from the past.

Why now ? Where did these come from ?

Well I was looking through our family pictures and transfering some from years past. I try not to take too many pictures of Mrs CB’s hair mixed in with regular family stuff….but over the years it just happens.  It seems I always wind up with an awkward few photos….especially uncool when flipping through the pictures latter with family and friends.

I know I should have just removed them.. but one thing leads to another and next thing you know I am showing pictures of the back of my wifes head to my mother in law. Oh well… no real big deal… I just flip quickly and people can think what they like. Anyway…..

So I saw a few pictures that I thought I would share just for the heck of it….. nothing crazy but by now I figure a few of you feel like you know Mrs CB’s hair history……. we could almost play guess the year.

So I just thought I would throw alittle something together for those that stopped by on a Saturday night…

Even some earring shots.....all be it not very clear.

Here we are on Monday night and I am sure you long time watchers have figured that is when I usually come down off my hair high. I wish more than ever I had my old website back so I could look through the articles and laugh at all the times I have been down this road.I keep thinking back to all my recent experiences both good and bad…

I thank you all for your comments because you don’t know how importnt they were this weekend. So many of you expressed the spirit to just be happy and enjoy your birthday. I feel like I have blogged about disappointment too many times. I almost made a quick post with no pictures and just a vague reference to everything being just fine.

If you are looking for great pictures…. this is probably when you want to be clicking over to one of the other ” blog about my wife’s hair” sites. If you stick around you were warned.

Ok- the pictures are exceedingly poor because I took them only after Mrs CB had washed and very poorly styled her hair. She was sad and I needed to pretend to take  pictures for the site and you guys. Well what the hell happened ? I don’t even know myself. Mrs CB tried to get a “lot ” of hair cut…. and she cut the sides shorter then she likes and the stylist put in all sorts of strange layers…. I am sure she was pushing for the back to be super high…. so wham … the clippers plowed right through my weight line/ shelf / ledge. In fact Mrs CB pushed herself to a point that she feels she has no hair up front and the back is clippered dare I say too much?

When Mrs CB pulled in….. my daughter came down stairs as she needed to talk to mom. Usually I have the home from salon time to myself. When Mrs CB came in I could tell she was not happy…. and that is unusual… I knew the cut was not to my liking … but tried to play it cool. My daughter was badgering my wife as she was watching my every  sad look. When we were alone it started to fall apart… she started to cry a little.

Luckily, I have been down this road and jumped into damage control. This was no longer about this haircut.. it was now going to be about all hair adventures. I told her how good it looked and how much I appreciated her boldness and daring. I lied with every ounce of me. Even as I write this… I can’t but help think I have written this before almost word for word.

Blogging is funny business it starts to change you. I feel some weird sense of duty to produce even better pictures… to really hit it out of the park. Honestly one of the first feelings I have is that maybe I should not be all wrapped up in sharing all these victories and defeats. Out here content is king…. and I can only post so many times about what I hope to get.

I am really on the fence about even posting 3 pictures…. somehow it tarnishes Mrs CB. I know the pictures I like and this is not them.

Everything will be fine…this weird cut will grow out and when my expectations are low.. I should get a kick ass cut. It would have looked a lot better if I had gotten pictures straight home from the salon. ( I even looked for hoops, and we both can’t find any, we will buy some ) Mrs Cb’s hair has been growing fast and with any luck in a few weeks we can carve something out I like… I would be very happy just to get back to my old comfy cut.

In other news our fancy stylist as the fancy salon that just did the cut I hate… went up a level…. and that means more money.. I think we may have to start up the journey for a new stylist…..or even let the coloring lady try it again…..hell I don’t know. I know it is not terrible….and much has to do with the poor styling.

I guess what really gets me is how she does not see the vision I have tried so many times to explain. When I asked about the blunt shelf in back she said .. ” I might have forgotten that part “  I just have to love her for trying..

This post does not leave you al much to say but.. hey CB it is not too bad.. cheer up… you ar still good. .

I will try to come up with some other topic that we can actually discuss.

It seems the best thing I can do is not worry about it…..

Well, the first present I got was not the best…. but I am adjusting. Last night I was pressing the Mrs. for some details… and generally making sure I was not going to get a super radical short cut surprise.

I had planned to get off work early meet her at the house and go to the salon together. She said I want to talk to you about tomorrow….I tensed up… here it comes…… I am not so sure you should come with me.

She then went into her argument that I love to talk to the cute stylist and her and I often get chatting. As Mrs CB put it. If you are not being weird about how she is cutting my hair you have her so distracted she does not do nearly as good a job.

So then she tosses this out. I guess if watching the cutting is more important then the end result you are welcome to come but I think you will be better off if you let me go it alone. It is totally up to you.

Yeah right.         So I am now at home while she is sitting in the chair. Her appointment time is right this minute.

I love haircut day … and I  especially love birthday haircut day. No matter what I get I am sure it will be clippered and short in the back… I was looking at some of the old Valentines cuts and after this grow out that looks mighty good to me.

I am all ready to open my present… I am feeling  like a 10 year old boy sitting at the kitchen table so excited and waiting for mom to bring in the birthday  presents. I can think of worse tortures.

See you in a day or so… I have an awful lot of crazy hair love in my immediate future- I am buckling up….

Tick tock……three days until my birthday and the appointment is set. Mrs CB’s hair has grown out and lost a lot of shape and style. Unfortunately some very predictable things have happened…. Mrs CB is “having fun playing with  some hair” . She has once again talked a big game and is now in full back pedal. So I want to come clean and lower your expectations. I was hoping to get that fabulous birthday gift… you know the sports car with a bow on top. I think I am looking at more of a nice shirt and tie kind of present. I will open it and say thank you…  but I did really want the sports car…. The little boy in my wants to yell but you promised…. maybe if I cross my fingers Ill  get a remote controlled car. It will be better then a shirt but not nearly as cool as the car I wanted… Ill make the most of it and have the best time I can.

So come with me and dial back your expectations…….. I’ll pass out cake and ice cream and if I am lucky a few of you will think the cut is not too shabby.

Enough about that…So we have this post called Earrings and bobs…. what is that about ?

We have had some requests for some pictures with some hoop earrings and it has had me thinking. I used to be a real sharp bob and hoop junkie. Mrs CB would rarely pull off the big ones ( her hooker hoops) .. she would wear some smaller ones quite a bit. She does not seem to wear them too often anymore and I wondered if she even still has them.

I get that I love the contrast of these bob cuts… I like the long bang contrasted with the clippered neck. I like the one short side contrasted with the long side… I can;t really pinpoint why I think a sharp bob needs a nice pair of hoops but I get you guys that dig them. I like all big dangling earrings. Mrs CB was not so much into them. I would love have her wear 6 inch things that touched her shoulders… but I just can’t pull off the negotiations. Truth told I put all my energy into getting the cut.

So that is all well and good but the support for my site is waining … and with good reason. So I thought just maybe I could win back a few readers with blast from the past post. I know we have some service men in the deserts of Afganistan wishing for a little something.

So I dug into the old old stuff….. and some of these I have posted before and some of these are from sets you have seen parts of. The pictures will no doubt look familiar but you may not have seen these exact shots.

So I went through about 20 or 25 sets and randomly grabbed some shots with earrings. During this process I was reminded of how much I like them.. I know many of you will not find this at all interesting… it is not your twist but you will at least see some nice hair along the way.

I did not have the time or energy to watermark these. I should use them to drum up support for the site but I will just have to count on your guys policing yourself and supporting me from time to time.

Anyway that was a random selection of earring shots from the past… and I hope you enjoyed a picture or two. I want to be in your bookmarks of sites to check from time to time.

The winter appears to have actually ended here in Seattle, so you will now have a season of outdoor pictures and that little red shed many of you are familiar with. The trees have yet to fill in but when our growing season is so short the plants and trees here grow fast. Not unlike the plants Mrs CB’s hair has grown out  enough to have lost its shape…. and the color was starting to get that blotchy look I remember from the days of trying to keep it colored at home. The fancy salon girl stays fairly booked and Mrs CB felt she had a color emergency brewing, she booked at the previous salon. Yes the one that let us down right before vacation.

I know you can’t get past the bad shape… remember I have not had a chance to get ANY pictures so I took the chance Friday night before her emergency color Saturday. Ms. CB was really not happy with me taking these photos with her hair all sticking out and looking a wreck. It just screams I need a haircut… but I was really trying to capture the wonky color.

Careful readers will see yes I did square up the bottom hairline as I could not stand it. Otherwise this is 5 or 6 weeks without a cut… and that is a very long time for Mrs CB. I am not so sure if it is super long as much as it just loses all shape.

Back from the salon...no cutting just blown out. Hard to tell but way better color.

I thought when she went to get colored Saturday… I had a chance of her getting a trim… but I really did not want it. I have gone this long and I am just now starting to crave that neck of bristle. I am guessing Mrs CB will get her classic cut in the end… but I will be very happy for it when it finally comes. She has offered to do earlobes…but doesn’t think she can do the shaved neck at the same time. The longer it gets the happier I am to just get back to my comfy chair. I am still slated to be in the next chair… and it will be on my birthday. I am hoping if I look at my stylist ( see Kimbra look alike) and remind her it IS my birthday.. maybe she will treat me. No idea how that is going to play out.

I never got good pictures of the fancy salon girls color … it was blah.. and although these pictures don’t do it justice the old less fancy lady does a better job… and its a lot cheaper. Just sayin’

hoping this links to the video…..a test of sorts.

I was very much enjoying the video Wally posted a link to…. and then I saw Rockon wondered where I was and I figured it was long overdue to give you an update…. Before I go on I have to say I like this video and not for the reasons I usually like recereation haircutting videos. I usually can not even consider having a male cutting my wife’s hair…but after watching this guy carve out this ledge I would actually consider it. I would rather my cute gal down the street could do this….but I can only imagine the result. You can not even really see any hair being cut… but you just know the thick bristle shelf is to die for. I know not for many of you but I liked it.

I am not in love with everything here.. but the thickness draws my eye.

My birthday is in late April… and Mrs CB is trying to target that for her next kick ass haircut. She has more than once said she was “on grow until your birthday”. I have to admit I get a little spoiled when it is too nice for too long so the dry spell really helps with the wow factor. I was just letting it ride and the other day before another team of corporate suits showed up she popped a box of root touch up on… and that seemed to detract from the color.

Ok going out on a limb… I am sure many of you will not get the draw but my daughter was playing this video… and Mrs CB called my attention to it. I kind of like it but if you skip to 2:25 you will see a lady “Kimbra” join in the video. She has no shaving and not even a very sharp bob…. but I think she is super sexy.. and as far as dark black bobs go.. I am liking it. I just like her whole look and body language ….. this reminds me a little of my current hairstylist and could explain just a bit of the why behind some of my stories.

Wickedly thick rounded bob......

Hey gang,

I saw we had a strange spike in activity on the site after several days of falling numbers so I thought it was time to offer up something new. I went back and looked at some video from after the Valentines cut. For you barber cape lovers ( John comes to mind ) Sorry I thought I got better video…in fact it is all but totally off camera.

What you will see if you decide to waste 3 minutes… is Mrs CB now wanting to negotiate for her dream couch.. I think she is setting the price purposely high…Mostly I am sharing it to show that Mrs CB … knows exactly the game. It took us a lot of years to get to this understanding… but we have a lot of fun with it. 

In other news …the last color job calmed down and I am liking it…I am afraid I am living in the monkey house.

You know when you go to the zoo and you go inot the Monkey house and it stinks really bad and you can’t beleive it… and then after a while the smell fades and by the end you don’t smell anything ? I am just a little afraid I am only use to it… maybe it has not gotten any better. Ill get some recent pictures up this weekend and you can give me your thoughts.
